First Conversation of the Day- 8/27/2009

Mason opens Sydney's door to greet her as the morning starts and he says:

M- "Sydney, guess what!?"
S- "What Mason?"
M- "I saw a bat in the backyard!"
S- "You did. That's amazing, Mason!"
M- "Yeah and it was black!"
S- "Ooooh. That's great, Mason!"

Made my heart melt. The things they say and with a whole lot of inflection in there voice....it's precious!

School's going to start soon!

Today the kids got postcards in the mail for their orientation day at preschool. Mason asked what we are going to do and I explained that this is just a day to meet his new teachers and see what he needs to be ready for school. He then tells me...."I think I know what they need. They need to give me a hug because they missed me." I said "You are exactly right." Love these moments. Too bad I keep forgetting to get on here to record each and every one of them. But at least I remembered this one.

Boogie Boards!

Annie and Pop pop came up and brought their boogie boards. The kids had a blast! We spent the whole weekend at the beach and the boards were a hit. I couldn't believe it but we even got Sydney on it a couple of waves. She shouted out her usual "yeehaw!" Too much fun!

Tired of talking

So this morning on the way to school, Mason is doing his usual ask a thousand "why" questions about anything you can think of. Well after about the 20th question, he says "Oh, I'm getting tired of all this talking." Ha, ha. It was very quiet the rest of the way...too funny not to share.

Christmas Program 2008

The kids were both in a Christmas program at their school. Mason was part of the angel rhythm band and Sydney was a sheep who came down the center aisle saying "baa, baa, baa." Mason loved hearing the true Christmas story and told me he liked the story about Baby Jesus. Here it is in February and I still occasionally hear Sydney in the back seat singing "We wish you a Merry Christmas." Ha, ha.

Christmas 2008

This year's Christmas was bittersweet without Matt being home. It was nice to have a Christmas in our new home but without Matt the holiday just kind of came and went without as much of a holiday feel. However, we did have some fun putting up some Christmas decorations with the grandparents. We had a blow up Santa that Syd and Mason would take a wacking to every once in a while. They found it hilarious that Santa would just come right back up for more.

Preschool is great!

The kids really enjoy their preschool. They learn so many new things all the time. I often hear them singing new songs they've learned and new prayers too. It's impressive what they understand. The other day, Mason said the black part of his eye is called the pupil...although Mommy took a few moments to realize what he was saying. I thought he was saying the black circle in the door is the peephole. If you misunderstand him, he will make sure you are clear on what he's saying before he will let it go. Quite funny!

Both kids have kept colds off and on pretty much the entire winter season. Mason coughed and I asked him to cover his mouth. He goes on to explain that you can't cover your mouth with your hand because you will then touch a toy and spread your germs everywhere so you have to cover your mouth by coughing into the inside of your arm. Amazing how much he sounded just like his school teacher standing there saying it.

Sydney is definitely little Miss Independent. If we aren't talking about our princess outfit, we are telling someone else "No, I do it." It's not so good and wonderful all at the same time.

Epcot

I am pretty sure that Mason's favorite part of his first trip to Epcot was the jumping water fountains. This is probably the hardest I had seen him laugh in a long time. It was a riot!

Tickle Tickle

Well, I can't believe how long it's been since I updated this blog. So I will try an update now with as many funny things about the kids as possible. This is a cute video that was taken of kids waiting somewhere in Disney World for probably a bus to show up. Sydney and Mason love tickling each other.....to the point of exhaustion sometimes.
